We would like to introduce you to a new tour on the Rosario Islands near Cartagena, where customers themselves actively participate in a project to restore various ecosystems on Isla Grande. This tour is ideal for those who are looking for more than just a classic beach day on the Rosario Islands, but also want to contribute to the conservation of the local flora and fauna.

We depart from Cartagena at 9 am on a shared motorboat. On arrival on the island, we first receive an introduction to the projects that play the main role in this tour. We then walk a short distance to a jetty, from where we cross the mangrove forest in a canoe, after which we change to another boat and head to our first ecological project – planting mangroves and thus contributing to the reforestation of the mangrove forest. Afterwards we continue to the next project – reforestation of the coral reef, where we are allowed to plant corals ourselves, equipped with good snorkeling equipment (here is a video about coral reforestation).

After all this effort, we enjoy a well-deserved, typical local lunch, where we can choose between chicken, fish and meat or vegetarian.

In the afternoon, we head back to Cartagena by motorboat.

Please note: With heavy swell, the ride can be a little rough, and is then not suitable for people with back problems or pregnant women.
