TOGETHER FOR RESPONSIBLE TOURISM – OUR DUTY OF CARE

Tourism in Colombia is a driving force for positive change, peace, and economic development. However, with this growth comes a great responsibility: protecting the most vulnerable members of our society and upholding ethical standards.

Our Standards: Prevention as a Priority

At Neptuno Travel, we don’t just meet Colombia’s strict legal requirements for preventing the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESCNNA); we actively live them. Our team, guides, and drivers receive regular training to remain sensitive to potential risks and act according to established protocols if necessary. Thanks to this consistent prevention work, we have successfully maintained the integrity and safety of our trips for years.

Safety Starts at Check-in

A key component of this protection is the cooperation with our partner hotels. Your clients may have noticed that check-in procedures are very thorough—especially when minors are traveling.

  • Identity Verification: Hotels are legally required to document the identity and relationship between adults and any minors traveling with them.

  • Traveling with One Parent or Third Parties: In these cases, an official, notarized consent form from the legal guardians (or the absent parent) is strictly required.

Why do we do this? These measures are not mere bureaucracy; they are the most effective way to prevent abuse and human trafficking. We ask you to inform your clients during the planning stage so that these procedures are recognized for what they are: a hallmark of responsible tourism in Colombia.

Your Role: Shared Vigilance

A safe travel experience begins with the very first inquiry. We know you know your clients, but we ask you to be particularly observant regarding unusual booking requests. If you notice details that seem out of place—such as an unusual choice of accommodation or suspicious setups for solo travelers with minors—please reach out to us openly. Together, we can discreetly review inquiries and ensure that every trip meets the high ethical values that define our partnership.

Thank you for helping us position Colombia as a travel destination that treats safety and responsibility with the highest priority.
